What’s Different About Your Interviewing Techniques?

If everything goes well with the phone screen, we invite the candidate to our office to meet them face-to-face.

We get to know candidates.  We get to know them personally.  We find out about their philosophies of working.  Do they love to work or is it just a job?

Interviews usually last 60 to 90 minutes.  We talk about technology, working in teams, dealing with the boss and personal topics.  We ask why they’re leaving their current job.  We look at professionalism, mannerisms and communication skills.

  • For programming candidates, we dive into details about designing, coding, testing, documenting and estimating.  We can tell if a candidate only knows the syntax of a language or if they truly know how to develop applications.  Some clients ask us to do technical testing.
  • For networking candidates, we discuss topologies, operating systems, tuning, desktop hardware, server hardware, and communications. 
  • With managers we discuss methodologies, hiring/firing, estimating, scheduling, budgeting and how they motivate employees.
