How Can You Save Me Time Reviewing Resumes?

We hear it over and over again.  I waste so many hours every week reviewing resumes that don’t meet my requirements.”  “I spent four hours last week reading resumes and didn’t find anyone I even wanted to talk to”. 

  • We assist candidates in preparing their resumes.  On the resume we stress the candidate’s background that represents their strongest, most recent skill set. 

  • Resumes are formatted to be easily read by hiring managers and HR departments.  A short synopsis of the candidate’s background and career goals is included:

“Over five years experience in Information Technology working as a Programmer/Analyst developing C, C++ and Java applications.  Very experienced using Oracle, SQL Server and DB2.  Looking for a new programming position with Project Leader responsibilities.”

Hiring managers are very busy.  Resumes should be easy to read with a quickly identifiable list of skills and experiences.

  • We list all jobs, titles, dates, responsibilities and dollar requirements.  We show education, certifications, training and special skills.  Hardware, software and operating platforms are shown.  Information is summarized to make it easy to read and give a true indication of the candidate’s strength.  We never exaggerate or overstate a candidate’s background.

  • Resumes are written in chronological order showing the most recent jobs and the most recent skills first.  We don’t use functional-type resumes.

  • After the resume is prepared, it is e-mailed to the client along with a cover letter and any additional requested information.

  • After a couple of days we follow up with a client phone call to determine our next step.
