Testing Analyst
The Testing Analyst is primarily responsible for developing test cases and testing applications. This position will work closely with the Test Team Lead as well as the Application Development Teams to develop test cases and thoroughly test the application based on the business rules. The position will also be responsible for creating and maintaining automated test scripts using an automated testing tool. Analyze functional specifications, use cases and other available documentation to develop detailed test cases. Thoroughly test applications using detailed test cases and structured testing techniques. Work with Managers and team members to develop testing standards. Update test documentation to record software modifications and upgrades applied. Using an automated testing tool develop automated test scripts that thoroughly and accurately regression test the application. This should in include recorded as well as coded scripts. Study assigned training materials on software packages to enhance current skills. A contracting position is also available and requires these same skills plus PL/SQL, Requirements: Associate’s degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or technical school and 2 years related experience in software programming; or four years related experience in application development and structured testing techniques or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year experience using an automated testing tool such as Rational Test Suites. Ability to understand the user requirements, functional specifications and use cases, and generate Detailed Test Cases. Should be familiar with Oracle database structures and field update processes. Ability to determine testing defects and record them accurately. Ability to research and resolve problems and issues related to the current system under test. Applications being tested are usually web-based Windows or UNIX applications written in Java. Must have experience with automated testing tools. Preference will be given to St. Louis-based candidates and there is no visa processing available for this job, only US citizens or green card holders will be considered.
